Nanjing, the current capital of Jiangsu Province. is one of the most delightful of Chinese cities. In fact, it is famous for being one of the four most ancient cities of China. it has a brilliant cultural heritage. the city covers an area exceeding 6,500 square kilometers, including urban and suburban locales, and boasts a population of approximately 5.5 million.
 

Situation
Lies in the southwest part of Jiangsu Province, south of the Yangtze River. Archaeological records prove the existence of nomadic peoples in the area over 300,000 years ago, while primitive villages appeared approximately 6000 years ago. Through continuous development, Nanjing has become one of the most prosperous cities in China today.

Weather & Temperature
Nanjing's average annual temperatureis about 15C and the time from mid-June to July is the rain period. The average ground temperature in summer can reach 35C (95F) and the extreme highest point could reach 40C (104F) sometimes. The city's location at the lower river valley of the Yangtze River make thing worse as nearby mountains hold the hot air in. The short and comfortable autumn time from October to mid-November is the best travel period for the city.

By Air
Lu Kou International Airport (NKG) in Nanjing is located to the southeast of the city, 35 kilometers (22 miles) from the city center. have regular air connections to all major Chinese cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Chongqing, and Xian.

By Train
Nanjing has a convenient rail network, with direct trains to Beijing, Shanghai (four hours), Hangzhou (two hours), and Xian. The Yangtze River Bridge in Nanjing connects railways on the northern and the southern river banks so that Nanjing has become the train transport hub of Eastern China.

By Bus
Nanjing Zhongyangmen Distance Passenger Station at No. 1, Jianning Road is the most important station in Nanjing serving the most travelers. Nanjing-Shanghai Express buses leave from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily with an interval of twenty or thirty minutes stopping at Zhenjiang, Changzhou, Wuxi, Suzhou and Shanghai.
