Brief Introduction

Beijing North Railway Station, formerly known as Xizhimen Railway Station, is a railway station in Beijing, China. Built in 1906 during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) as one of the original stations on the the famous Beijing-Zhangjiakou Railway, the first railway of China, starts from this station and provides an important access to the northwest of Beijing; they were both designed and inspected by Zhan Tianyou, the first railway engineer of China.

Beijing North Railway Station is a small station (Tier-III) managed by the Beijing Railway Bureau that provides regular intercity train service to the north, northwest, and tourist trains to the suburb and nearby location of Beijing City, and the short-distance trains from Beijing to Hebei Province and Inner Mongolian Autonomous Region.

Beijing North Railway Station is a rather small station. It is located north of the Xizhimen Subway Station and accessible by Lines 2 and Line 13 of the Beijing Subway, there are also has a numerous city bus lines to contact Beijing North Railway Station. At present, this station is under reconstruction, and only a few trains arrive and start from here. In the future, it will be larger and more modern.
   
Transportation

By subway: Subway Line 2 and Line 13 to Beijing North Subway Station, get off the exit and then walk to the Railway Station.
By Bus
1. Bus No.21, 331, 375, 387, 392, 490, 604, 650, 693, 743 to Suojiafen bus station, and then walk to the North railway station.
2. Bus No.27, Big 44, Small 44 Xiao, 206, 347, 618, 800, 939 to Yutaoyuan bus station, and then walk to the North railway station.
By taxi: The cost from midtown Beijing to Beijing North Railway Station is normally around RMB35 depending on the type of taxi.
